- Name: We picked out a name, though we aren't so committed to it that we are monogramming things. This took us a lot of research, discussion, and patience. We both suggested this name separately. It is a family name on my side, and we love the meaning as well, which was important to us. Now that you have read a paragraph just to read the name, here it is: Lucy Kate. Lucy means bringer of light, Kate means pure. We picked it and decided to try it out for a while, and it just keeps growing on us.
-Registering: I started registering a little. Only on Amazon, and only for the big things. I don't know where else to register except there and target. Do I need to register at more than two places? Am I missing something important? I am not going to register for clothes at all. Since we are having a girl I feel doomed to only getting clothes and nothing practical at my shower(s).
-Nursery: I cleaned out the room and closet that will be used for the nursery. We moved out the extra furniture as well. Its a (mostly) blank slate. We are leaving it a guest room/ nursery combo. The bed rooms in our house are larger than normal, so we didn't want to give up a large amount of our house for a baby that won't even know she has her own room for a long time. When guests come, she can sleep in a pack n' play in our room. And, let's be honest, my parents are generally our only guests, they will probably want her with them at all times, even in the room at night. I ordered bedding (click on the link below if you care). We ordered the blanket, crib skirt, sheet. We (my mom) is going to make the bumpers, curtains, extra pillows etc, out of fabric that is not pink. I love this bedding, I do not love lots of pink.

-Splurge: I bought a diaper bag. Its one I've been eyeing for a long time. I found it half off. It should come in any day now. I bought it myself with Christmas money I have been saving. It was my splurge purchase, and I couldn't justify registering for it, or asking for it when there are so many things we actually need. You know, like diapers and a car seat, things that make diaper bags a necessity.
-Health: I had the gestational diabetes test this week. I never heard back, so I guess everything is normal. I am measuring right on track. Her heartbeat is still fast. We've got a hyper one on our hands.
-Moving around: Michael has been able to feel Lucy moving around lately, we can even see it if you watch closely enough. We think she is kickboxing because her moves are quick. I am no expert, but I think she is a night owl. I notice during the day when she kicks, and it is rare. But once I lay down to go to sleep, she parties. And sometimes it wakes me up. She's just getting me ready I suppose.
