I blame it on the pictures.

I would post a lot more if it didn't take forever for my pictures to upload.  What's the point of a post without pictures anyway? Especially when it is a trip re-cap.

Here is more of Ireland:

After Doolin we hit a low point in the trip.  We woke up early in the morning to a really bad storm, that lasted all day.  The plan for the day was to drive on two different scenic drives.  We didn't know what was supposed to happen with the weather, so we continued on with our plan. (did I mention we left our phones at home? We couldn't check the weather, but we were also unreachable.  So freeing.)  Our first scenic drive was Connor Pass, supposedly the best view in Ireland.  The drive was really scary.  It was a very steep, narrow (2 way traffic, one and half lanes), with steep drops right off the side, and it was raining, and maybe the most fog I've ever seen.  So up, up, up we went, and this is what we saw....

Nope, can't see a thing. We still don't know if we were supposed to enjoy a nice ocean view, or beautiful rolling hills.

So, onto our destination for the night, Dingle.  Dingle I am sure is a great vacation destination, but our experience in the theme of the day was not great.  Everything closed early, and we stayed in the strangest hostel we have yet encountered.  And everything closed really early.  The second scenic drive was around the peninsula leaving from Dingle.  The half way point is marked by an old fort.  However, the bad weather forged ahead so I don't have any pictures worth posting.  (see foggy picture above)  We did laugh when two hours into the drive it was getting dark, and we wanted food and we thought we had yet to reach the fort, when suddenly we re-entered the town.  We drove the entire loop and didn't see a single landmark!

Onto the next day (and one of the very best, thankfully)
We drove to Killarney, our favorite Irish city.  It is famous as a base for the "ring of kerry" drive.  Obviously, scenic drives are a big deal in Ireland, but how else can you see so much Irish beauty unless you try to cover some distance? It took us about 7 hours to drive this loop! Mostly because we would stop every few minutes to take in the scenery.  The first half was a little foggy, but things started clearing up soon after lunch.

We spent the night in Killarney, which we loved.  We enjoyed live music in a pub, it was the best live music we heard the entire trip.  If only we would have bought their CD...

There is still one more half day to post of Ireland, but this post is getting long.  I'll post again this week!
