When someone says "(insert any food) is really good, and healthy too" what do you think they mean by "healthy"? I usually think they mean low in fat or calories. I assume that I'm not the only one. But something low in calories or fat is not necessarily healthy, nor is something high in fat or calories always unhealthy. And what about the organic food trend? Is it really better to eat organic, cage free, hormone free, etc etc? Or is it just a marketing scheme? Or is it true that somethings should be organic and not others. I am going to start writing blogs on occasion answering these kinds of questions. I think we all need to know how to be healthy, whether we have a great figure or not, and be healthy without having expand the budget.
Tip for the day: floss your teeth!
An obvious one. Today I went to the dentist. I still have never had a cavity, but today was the first time any dentist has criticized my oral hygiene. I need to floss more. When they told me, I thought- if I care about health as much as I think I do, I would care about the health of my entire body, not just the foods I eat.
I went to the dentist this week too!!! They said I have beautiful teeth but that I need to floss more too... I really need to... I just don't think about it or have the time. Or at least that's my excuse. How long does it take to floss anyway? haha I need to floss, I know.
